Learning Objectives

Course Overview

This course provides students with the knowledge to assess fire risks and use best practice to prevent on-board fires. You will need to complete this online course prior to attending the practical course at the School. On completion of both parts students will achieve an STCW Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting Certificate, and students will be deemed to be competent in accordance with the amended provisions of Regulation VI/I (Section A-VI/1-2) of the International convention on Standards of Training Certification and Watch-keeping for Seafarers (STCW) 1978 as amended.

Assessment

There are short quizzes after each section and students will all also need to review online videos and complete the associated assessments
After completing these assessments you will receive a certificate which covers completion of the online Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting pre-course programme. The practical component of this course will be held at the school. Your tutor will be in touch.
