our vessel

Legionaire II

Introduction

In 2024 we purchased the vessel “Legionaire 11” from Noel and Maria Woods. This 15-meter Senator Catamaran replaced a smaller vessel the “Blyth Spirit” and is an excellent asset for the school, aligning with our belief in practical training.

In late 2024 we undertook a major refit in Nelson with most of the work being completed by AMEIX and ENL. The refit consisted of a new Furuno electronics package, a Panda genset, new wiring and a host of smaller bits an bobs to create a modern, fit for purpose vessel.

Workshop

In 2024, we constructed an engineering and net loft for engineering and vessel operations training. This facility has earned its place by providing practical training that enhances the learning experience. Workshop equipment was donated by Talleys in Nelson.
